I’m thrilled to announce that I am taking part in a group exhibition at Heiner Contemporary from November 18, 2011 until January 14, 2012.
“In Line/Out of Line” brings together abstract painters Chip Allen, Katherine Sable and myself, Camilo Sanín.
Each artist uses form, line, and color to create compositions that vary widely, ranging from intuitive to deliberate, loose to rigid, cacophonous to melodic. The paintings are non-representational abstract works, but suggest lived experiences and human emotions. As for myself, the paintings draw on memories of different places loaded with personal significance, including my homeland Bogotá, Colombia.
Initial Confluence (Acrylic on Canvas, 2011, 40 x 40 in.) will be one of the pieces in the show.
To see what else will be on display at the gallery, come by and check it out.
“In Line/Out of Line” will be on view at Heiner Contemporary November 18, 2011 – January 14, 2012. The gallery will host an opening reception on Saturday, November 19 from 6-8pm. Heiner Contemporary is located at 1675 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
I’d love to see you there!
