Bringing together ideas from the Confluence and Underlying Structure series, I created a small study (Substrata, Acrylic on Canvas, 2012, 22 x 22 in.) that aims to weave urban and negative spaces into a visual narrative of inclusion and exclusion with form playing a subservient role to color.
